FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2007 B7 REMEMBRANCES CONTINUED FROM PREVIOUS PAGE ANNA JANE LUCAS Anna Jane Lucas, 66, Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully at her home on May 9th, 2007 following a brave battle with cancer. Anna was born in Kansas City, KS, the only daughter of Wilbur and Edith Wright. Anna went to St. Agnes high school in Kansas City, KS and then attended the College of St.
Teresa in Kansas City, MO. She received her Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. Many years were spent traveling and living overseas. As a collegian, she studied Dante and improved her Italian in Florence, Italy. She met Stephen Lucas at a student leadership conference, and in 1963, Anna traveled to Elizabethville, Congo to marry and had a son.
After a short stint in Lisbon, Portugal where her first daughter was born, she lived in France for several years where she studied French and art, and had her second daughter. In 1968, she moved her family to Dares Salaam, Tanzania where her third daughter was born. While residing in Tanzania, Anna modeled for Harper's Bazaar and taught literature and English at Pugu Secondary School. At Pugu she walked three miles each way to carry the bricks used to build the school and worked the school's fields that supplemented the cafeteria. She traveled widely throughout Europe and Africa, and visited China in 1974.
In 1975 she returned to her hometown of Overland Park. Anna began teaching eighth grade English at Nallwood Junior High. 1 Now a single mother, she also provided for her family by working second jobs for a number of years. She met and fell in love with Dan Haupt who loved her in sickness and in health. Anna and Dan shared a sense of humor, an affection for antiquing and browsing used bookstores, and a loving home.
Anna eventually moved to a teaching post at Shawnee Mission Northwest where she enjoyed many years of teaching until she retired in 2005. Anna was a loving and devoted mother. She nurtured her children with books, crafts, art supplies, and a lot of love. She inspired creativity and created a nurturing home wherever her family lived. A house filled with books and her children and grandchildren made her happy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbur "Bill" Wright of Miami, OK and her mother, Edith Hunter, of Overland Park, KS. She is survived by her loving companion of thirty-one years, Dan Haupt; her four children, Stef Lucas, Menina Boyle, Jennifer Lucas and Amy Whitaker; and eleven much adored and cherished grandchildren, Madison Zephyr Lucas, Michael, Anna, Sarah, Jack Boyle, Jacob Rebecca Mauldin, and Lucas, Hannah Drew Whitaker. Memorial services will be held from 3:30 P.M. Saturday, May 12th 2007 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf.

MAGRINO Frank Magrino, 59, of Overland Park, died peacefully in the early morning of May 10, 2007, after a long battle with colon cancer.
He was born on June 27, 1947, and raised in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from Fordham University, where he met Anita, his wife of 37 years, and moved to Houston, Texas to pursue graduate studies in Economics at Rice University. He was one of the founders of Eveans, Bash, Magrino, and Klein. He was most recently employed as a consultant with DeMarche Associates in Overland Park. He is survived by his wife; his three daughters, Michele, Marlene, and Meredith, and his brother Bernard.

They were able to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary June 18, 2003 before his death in August of that year. She was a homemaker most of her life but had the opportunity throughout the years to work for three different candy companies, Terries, Sifers and Russell Stover Candies.
Mabel loved the Lord deeply and was so thankful for the wonderful church family at Immanuel. She was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her role as a grandmother and great -grandmother. She was blessed with wonderful friends and caring neighbors. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harry Lotz, husband Jim and twin grandchildren Sherri and Patrick Jr. Gordon.

WILLIAMS John H. Williams, 80, passed on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at a hospital in North Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on March 11, 1927 in Quenemo, Kansas the son of Thomas and Myrtle Cunning Williams. He had grown up in Quenemo but had lived in Kansas City, Missouri since 1949. John had served with the U.
S. Army in the MTOUSA in Rome, Italy from 1945 to 1947. He had worked for trucking and lumber companies until going to work for Kansas City Power Light for 28 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Community Christian Church of Kansas City, the Truman Library Institute, the IBEW and a 39 year member of the American Legion Post 317 of Melvern. John was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Richard, Tom and Lewis and sister, Betty Evertson.
John is survived by his brother, Don a "Dutch" Williams of Quenemo, his two sisters, Mary Lou Hopkins of Williamsburg and Martha Knight of Ottawa. Wilson, 69, of Liberty, MO, passed away May 10, 2007 at Liberty Hospital. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by services at 11:00 am Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at M-291 Liberty. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at the Brookline Cemetery in Brookline, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a memorial for the family or to the American Lung Association. Floyd was born July 31, 1937 in Chilhowee, MO, the son of Burt and Ruby Mae Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a son, Billy. He served in the U. S.
Navy. Floyd was a truck driver for many years, retiring from ANR Truck Lines. He leaves his wife, Gayle; son, Richard Wilson and wife Kelly; four daughters, Robyn Wilson, Shawna Hylton and husband Sonny, Anissa Duncan and husband David and Lanai Amick and husband Matt. He also leaves a step-son, Don Copeland; stepdaughter, Deandra Tate and husband Terry; two brothers, Gene and Don Wilson; 16 grandchildren and one great grandson.
