What are the controls as Jacob and Esau? ›

Both Jacob and Esau are controlled simultaneously, and they have separate items, trinkets, and health bars. If one of the two characters dies, the other will also die. Both can hold active items: the active item key (SPACE) will use Jacob's item, and the card/pill use key (Q) will use Esau's item.

The two are representatives of two different grades of social order, Jacob being a pastoralist and Esau a nomadic hunter. During her pregnancy, Rebekah was told by God that she would give birth to twins; each of them would found a great nation, and Esau, the elder, would serve his younger brother.

Both characters have collision and can be separated, though the "Drop" button can be held to keep Esau in place while Jacob is free to move around the room. If either Jacob or Esau die, they both die regardless of the other character's remaining health.

No one child should be the favorite of his father or his mother. All children should be equally the favorites of their fathers and mothers and receive their parents' love in equal measure.
